BOB'S CENTRAL CAROLINA WEATHER PAGE

Welcome to Bob's Central Carolina Weather page. This page contains  information and links pertaining to Meteorology and amateur radio. My call sign is WX4MMM and I monitor most Raleigh area 2 meter repeaters. My  weather observing  station location is in Northwestern Wake County near Highway 98 and Highway 50.  I have been continuously  recording  climatic data  since September 1985, including daily maximun/minimun temperatures, precipitation, barometric pressure, dew point, wind direction and wind speed (Davis Weather Monitor II). Weather data from this station is uploaded to serveral web sites including the Citzens Weather Obervation Program ( station WX4MMM, AP098).  I attended NC State and have a BS and MS in Meteorology and a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS),  National Weather Association (NWA), Atlantic Coast Observer Network (ACON), Raleigh Amateur Radio Society (RARS),  American Radio Relay League (ARRL), Smith Chart Amateur Radio Society (K4OO), and Weather Matrix. I am also an assistant emergency coordinator (AEC)  for Central Carolina Skywarn and  Wake Co (NC-WK-1) and Pender Co (NC-PD-2) observer for CoCoRaHS.

A significant number of outdoor events ( festivals, sporting events, weddings, etc) now obtain weather insurance polices.  The insurance companies  usually require  a independent  weather observer to verify the local weather conditions which I  am available to provide this service during weekends.
